The Kentucky Derby
It is time for the "Run for the Roses" at Churchill Downs in Louisville this weekend as they host the 136th Kentucky Derby.
The Derby kicks off the "triple crown" of thoroughbred horse racing followed by the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes in May and June.
What is so enjoyable about the Kentucky Derby are all the well-known traditions. The elaborate hats, the fancy parties, the mint juleps and the endless renditions of "My Old Kentucky Home", but as post time approaches pay attention, this is after all the "most exciting two minutes in sports" and you don't want to miss it.
The race will air on NBC on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Special coverage begins at 4:00 PM EST.
Post time for the Kentucky Derby is 6:24 PM EST.

So buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, and a hot dog too, and let's play ball!
Gates open at 4:00 PM with the first pitch scheduled for 6:10 PM.
